I blog about the ups & downs of being a special needs mom. I spread awareness for Down syndrome and want to educate those considering an abortion based on a Down syndrome diagnosis. I want to show society what it’s like to raise my daughter because I want society to see her as a person and not a disability.
I chose Baby Lemonade as my blog name because even though life may have handed us some lemons, we chose to see this beautiful baby as our sweet lemonade.

I always figured that parenthood would keep us on our toes and it’s definitely throwing us for a loop already.
We’ve decided to share that we’ve gotten some unexpected news. Recently, we found out that Baby Girl has Trisomy 21, also known as, Down Syndrome.
Every child has their own obstacles in life and this is something that we will overcome together, as a family.
This sonogram is from our 16 week checkup. We got to see her wriggling around, punching and kicking her tiny arms and legs. She’s already a fighter! She is also very healthy and is right where she needs to be.
This is not sad news, it is just different than what we were expecting and we can’t wait to hold our beautiful daughter in our arms. Thanks for your love & support as we continue this adventure. ♥ #whenlifehandsyoulemons #babylemonade
