If you know me personally, you’ve probably met my aunt, Jojo Miller, at one point or another. It’s hard to miss her – she’s the most supportive person with the biggest heart.
She has the most amazing opportunity in front of her & I am so PROUD that she’s going to be making such a big difference. She is going on a mission trip to Brazil to educate the population on special needs.
I am also proud that she’s able to use Kara as the perfect example of how someone with Down syndrome is worthy of life & is considered valuable to society.
I am beyond excited for her to take this step & I want to share her story (see below). She currently has a fundraising page setup to help with the costs of this trip. I will be going on my first mission trip with Grace Church to Manaus, Brazil! While we are in these villages, I will be able to educate families, encourage them and most importantly share the love & joy Jesus has for them.
I have felt it heavy on my heart to serve for some time now and when this opportunity arose I knew God was calling me to go. As most of you know, my great niece has Down syndrome and most countries, like Brazil, are not educated in all the possibilities for a child with special needs. Sadly, many children with special needs are cast aside or even killed because of their disabilities; they are thought to be unimportant or cursed.
Grace Church, partners with Ray of Hope, which provides the leadership and tools to educate the public about children with special needs and how important and extraordinary they are. Because of my experiences with my great niece, I feel well-equipped to share the God given potential that these special human beings have, and how they were brought here by God, just like us, for a reason and for a purpose.
Because God doesn’t make mistakes.
